Scholarships
WID Palmetto STEM Scholarship
Women in Defense Palmetto Chapter (WID PC) offers two $2,500 STEM scholarships to female students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a national security, defense, or STEM discipline. One scholarship is reserved for a Service Member/Guard/ROTC/Veteran applicant.
Scholarship awards are made according to financial need, academic achievement, faculty recommendation, recognition and honors, activities, and personal essay.

Scholarships will be granted on or before 15 July 2024 for the 2024 Fall quarter/semester.
Applicants Must Meet the Following Eligibility Criteria:
- Be a citizen of the United States.
- Be a female enrolled full-time in a South Carolina college or university undergraduate or graduate program.
- As of Fall 2024, be at least a Sophomore with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Be studying in a field that falls within a national security, defense, or STEM discipline.
- Service Member Scholarship Only: Be Active Duty Military, Reservist, Guard, or Veteran of the United States Armed Forces or enrolled in an ROTC program.
Applications must include:
- Proof of United States Citizenship
- Complete online STEM Scholarship application
- Copy of College Transcript (unofficial is acceptable)
- Statement of Intent
- Resume
- Faculty Member Recommendation
- Service Members Only: Proof of current Active Duty/Reservist/Guard/ROTC status and verification of no failed physical fitness tests
- ROTC Only: Additional verification of continued enrollment in ROTC Program in Fall 2024 term
- Veterans Only: Copy of DD214 with SSN redacted
